Sand Artist Captivates Latin American Audience on Colombian TV
A new edition of the ‘Festival Internacional del Humor’ (International Comedy Festival) took place last December and Colombian families gathered around the television to watch over 50 artists and entertainers from all over the world perform unique shows. Our very own Sand Artist Simona was among those 50 wonderful entertainers.
Simona was given the exciting challenge to prepare three different bespoke sand art stories for the above-mentioned festival, a TV show that has become a tradition for families to watch over the festive period in the Latin American country.
Based on Colombia’s rich culture, beautiful landscapes and relevant public figures, Simona’s sand art creations told different stories. One of them was an ode to the country’s culture and natural biodiversity; a second one paid homage to Egan Bernal, the first Colombian cyclist to win the Tour of France; and the last one commemorated the 20th anniversary of Jaime Garzón's death (Jaime was a Colombian comedian, journalist, politician, and peace activist murdered in 1999).
You can watch one of Simona's original sand art stories below:
