10,000 views for Raspberry Pi

This month, we collaborated with the global charity Raspberry Pi inspiring youngsters at #RaspberryFields to get hands-on with digital making activities and enable the future generation to learn new skills for free.

Over 1300 visitors attended #RaspberryFields, the festival of digital making in Cambridge, and had the chance to unleash their inner digital inventor. Festival-goers learnt about wacky and wonderful projects happening in their community and how they could continue the great work started at the festival at home with online resources.

Our Mechanical Umbrella Tree took centre stage at the festival with 10,000 people viewing the installation both online and in person. The Mechanical Umbrella Tree is an inspiring installation that conjures up thoughts of weird and wonderful inventions. The four-metre high structure weaves a creaky choreography of mechanically operated umbrellas, lights and smoke - perfect for inspiring inventors of the future. Captivated by the installation, guests took to social media to share their experiences.

Raspberry Pi was created to channel the passion of the digital world ingrained in young people to help their future careers. Apart from great young minds and our Mechanical Umbrella Tree, the #RaspberryFields festival was filled with projects and talks, spectacular live shows, outstanding volunteers, digital making, LED’s and more stickers than a young coding enthusiast can cope with.

Entertainment Account Manager, Laura Barnfield, who pieced the entertainment together said:

"When working with my client it was essential that the installation was innovative, would stand out from the crowd, and amuse and delight the community. What's great about the Tree is that it can be found singing to itself and dancing to its very own mechanical ballet - mesmerising! My client was so pleased with the smooth running from set up to pack down and ultimately the end results that met their needs: Innovative, colourful, unusual and ideal for a festival!"

We create innovative entertainment experiences with inspiring acts and installations like our Mechanical Umbrella Tree to give your event the wow factor and create unexpected moments for guests. Our team of Entertainment Specialists are on hand to help you build your festival concept from idea to implementation and delivery.

We recently joined forces with The Royal Horticultural Society to celebrate the 2018 RHS Chatsworth Show. Entertainment Specialists Kate Fowler created a spontaneous encounter with our flower hostesses to provide visitors with an immersive flower installation to remember.
