This Week In The Event Industry: 3rd March
Happy Friday event profs, we’re here with or weekly roundup of event industry news.
Having picked out our favourite articles released this week, we have a look at Brisbane’s latest MICE deal, why IBTM Arabia was hailed a huge success, how businesses can use events to grow their product user base, as well as event web design trends.
Brisbane Wins Herbalife Incentive
The international nutrition company will be taking 1,500 delegates to Queensland in September for its Future President’s Team Retreat. Delegates will take part in a series of lifestyle and leisure activities, making the most of the beautiful location.
The Brisbane Convention Bureau and the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and Tourism Events Queensland worked closely together to secure the contract, which is worth an estimated $3.9m (£2.3m).
IBTM Arabia Success
IBTM Arabia 2017 was hailed a ‘great success’ by both exhibitors and Hosted Buyers. Over 2,100 pre-planned meetings took place over the two day event in ‘pods’ throughout the venue. Attendees of the event commented on how this new structure allowed for an informal environment that greatly benefitted networking and greater personal interaction.
Build Your User Base
A question that ever business owner asks themselves on a regular basis – how can I increase my exposure? Whether you’re offering a product or a service, sometimes no amount of content / direct / affiliate / promotional / social media marketing can make a difference like face-to-face marketing can. What better way to create a face-to-face experience than with an event.
