How To Transform Your Venue Into An Immersive Experience
This is how our Account Manager Kate Fowler created an immersive experience at The Tobacco Dock London for a global congress travelling to the UK’s capital city.
The aim of the evening was to give international business executives and senior managers an escapist environment to relax and network. Our client wanted to create an immersive steampunk themed drinks/celebration evening for a large scale global data company.
Venue Know How:
The grade 1 listed venue, Tobacco Dock London, is unique in its layout. Venues like this, can be extremely sensitive when it comes to health and safety restrictions due to the age of the buildings. The venue lends itself to a steampunk themed event so we looked to supply entertainment that compliments the extraordinary event venue.
Our aim was to use our pool of high-end entertainment options to compliment the magnificent venue to construct the ultimate immersive steampunk escapist environment. We complimented the venue by creating three stage shows that heightened each one of the senses allowing guests to seamlessly connect one shared experience to another with the help of our immersive steampunk roaming acts.
We supplied a variety of our own acts, 18 artists in total, to create the ultimate immersive experience. Pulling together the perfect acts for this event takes real skill and is a process which our Entertainment Specialist’s like Kate do on a regular basis. The skill is to provide a combination of entertainment options which all add value to create a spectacle that has a long lasting impression.
Steampunk Themed Party DJ: Dressed in a purple and black steampunk style costume our highly energetic Female DJ remixed a variety of tunes to segway sounds of the vintage era into the 21st century.
Giant Bird Cage: The giant 3.5 metre tall bird cage created a breathtaking centerpiece for guests to congregate around. The cage was dressed in scented flowers and customised with purple, red and blue LEDs. The cage looked similar and complemented other bandstands featured at the Tobacco Dock.
Twin Sister String Violinist: Working alongside our steampunk themed DJ, the LED electric string duo provided another live interactive element for guests to jive and dance whilst at the corporate drinks evening.
Victorian Strong Men: Putting attendees at the heart of their performance our Victorian strong men roamed through the audience displaying their incredible strength. The striped men paid homage to vintage steampunk fashion whilst asking members of the willing public to help propel them into the air.
Roaming Steampunk Group: The unique and intricate costumed characters evoked memories of mystery as they used unicycles, diablos and circus acts to showcase the wonders of the steampunk era.
Vintage Circus:With a host of victorian and vintage inspired costumes our chivaree circus roamed the event with a circus lion, hula hoop performers, jugglers, acro duo and female contortionists. The Vintage circus surprised audience members with entertainment around every corner of The Tobacco Dock London.
Guests loved the entertainment and were fully engaged with all aspects of the evening's entertainment. Many of the guests couldn’t help but get involved with the steampunk theme and the celebrations saw senior managers networking whilst learning the diablo and carrying vintage strong men around the famous London venue.
The event was then shared across social media and the conversation carried on weeks after the global congress. Kate Fowler said:
"It was a real pleasure to put together some of the finest talent from the UK circus circuit for this prestigious steampunk themed event. The costumes matched perfectly to the historical venue to make it a fully immersive and interactive experience for the near 800 guests. All was complemented beautifully by the steampunk sounds of our DJ and the Twin Sister String Act with their LED electric violins making it a great event for all the senses!"

The strength of the relationship between our entertainment coordinators and our artists goes far beyond booking them for events. We think the image above is an acrobatic demonstration of strength and respect between two integral parts of our company, our artists and our Account Managers.
