Tweet Roundup: #Eventprofs on Twitter

Happy Monday event professionals! This week our tweet roundup is a Glastonbury special.

This weekend it was all about Glastonbury with huge bands like Food Fighters, Major Lazer and Ed Sheeran take to the stage - as well as a speech from Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn on the Saturday. Thousands of revellers attended the festival and of course it wouldn’t have been able to happen without the event profs behind it all.

Here is a roundup up in tweets of Glastonbury highlights for you to relive the fun - enjoy and banish those Monday blues!

Welcome to the rock show

There was no doubt that one of the highlights of the weekend was the Foo Fighter’s pyramid stage performance on Saturday night. A band that are loved by rock and pop fans alike, when Dave Grohl and crew took to the stage the electricity in the atmosphere was tangible!

The smartest tent you’ll ever stay in

EE took their 4GEE Smart Tent to Glastonbury over the weekend with the aim of enhancing revellers’ camping festival experience. The tent had a bespoke mini fridge, showed a live stream of the stages across the site, had a voice-activated party setting and acted as a 4G WiFi hotspot 10am-10pm. The mobile network brand also set up a ‘recharge’ tent at the festival where those running low on battery could recharge their phones with pedal power and swap their power banks for fully charged ones! Catering to one of the biggest gripes of festival goers.

Ed Sheeran

Superstar Ed Sheeran closed the festival on Sunday night. What an amazing set and a fantastic way to end the weekend of frivolities on a high. Here is a little taster of his performance…

The other entertainment

Of course the line-up of musicians wasn’t the only entertainment on site over the weekend. There were a host of unique structures, activations and walk about performers one of the most striking was Arcadia’s giant metal spider which hasn’t been seen at the festival since 2015. Arcadia’s Metamorphosis show sees aliens flying in the sky and so much more. Labelled ‘sensory mayhem’ this show is incredible and the perfect fit for Glasto!
