Sand Sculptor Creates Social Media Frenzy
Scarlett Entertainment recently organised an incredible sand-based art installation for a Maritime Festival in Northern Ireland.
Creating a social media frenzy just off of the beach front, our Sand Sculptor Daniel created an impressively large sculpture of an octopus wrapped around a small wooden boat.
The eye-catching sculpture had families queuing to take social media-worthy photos, posing behind the sea creature as though they were sitting in the octopus-entwined boat.
The installation was built the day before the festival began using one ton of sand to sculpt the marvellous sand creation.
From the client’s request, Daniel created a bespoke wooden structure for members of the public to sit on. The wooden chair was placed behind the frame of the sand-made boat, making the public look part of the sand sculpture for the perfect photo opportunity.
Our award-winning Dublin-based Sand Sculptor, Daniel, has spent the past ten years creating stunning sculptures in many different destinations around the world.
Having studied sculpture at the Dublin Institute of Technology’s College of Marketing and Design, Daniel has always had an eye for detail and a love for sculpture.
Creating this gigantic sculpture was an imaginative PR stunt for the Maritime Festival, with members of the public taking photos of the sand installation and talking about the festival across the internet.
