Rebrand for One of Scotland’s Top Venues
Glasgow’s Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) announces rebrand becoming the ‘Scottish Event Campus’ (SEC).
The decision to rebrand this iconic Scottish venue comes with the acknowledgement that over the past 30 years the venue has developed into a hub for live entertainment. This in an integral part of the venue’s income, but something that is not represented in its, now former, name.
Along with this new name the Glasgow venue will received a new look which was revealed at a Burns Night Supper held at the V&A Museum in London on 26 January.
Peter Buthie, the venue’s chief executive, explained the rationale behind the rebrand: ‘The decision and announcement comes at a time when the company has seen changes in the nature of the business it now operates. The name Scottish Event Campus (SEC) better describes the site, is more representative of what we do and reflects a vision for the future.’
The Scottish Event Campus was winner of ‘Venue of the Year’ at the Exhibition News Awards last year, having welcomed more than half a million visitors to exhibitions at the venue. It is due to host 47 exhibitions over the coming year.
