The Blue Shoes are THE original rhythm and blues band to come out of Essex. Jordan Marsh and The Blue Shoes have been honing their sound for almost ten years on the pub and club circuit of Essex and London. Songwriter and band leader Jordan found his feet playing piano in the bars and cocktail lounges of Essex and is now playing esteemed music venues on the London circuit such as the Troubadour in Fulham, the Cobden club in Notting Hill and Camden’s world famous Jazz cafe.
The process of playing live has refined the bluesy, country soul sound that makes the Blue Shoes. Jordan takes in the strong musical influences of his heroes such as Chuck Berry, Dan Penn and Tony Joe White. Bubble-gum, throw away pop this is not. With Jordan’s roots embedded in black soul music, he has also studied the lives and music of the 1950’s at length and gives a unique British take on the classic American sound with as much gusto as his peers.
With a unique British take on classic Americana this band need to be heard and seen live.
